Raelyn (Battle Mage PC) | Dungeon Fighter Online (canon alternate timeline*) | OTA

(*: Rae's history is based on a portion of DFO's main story quests from before the 2018 'Origin' update; the pre-Origin storyline is no longer accessible in-game and is now presented as being an alternate timeline.)

Arrival:
[It's over before she even knows what is happening. An unstable space, a crack in air just barely visible, breaks open without warning and gives way to a swirling blue void in the moments that she is passing by, and she finds herself sucked in with no possible means of escape.

After what feels like an eternity of falling, she finally—finally—lands on something solid. Looking around, she recognizes nothing about the abstract blue space that now makes up her surroundings, but then again, she didn't expect to; she'd heard little things here and there about dimensional rifts, the gateways that connected different worlds or times to one another, and if she'd actually fallen into one, chances were pretty good that she would recognize nothing inside it, as well as nothing at wherever or whenever it connected Arad to.

Just standing around looking around isn't going to do any good, though, so after a few moments, she picks a direction and starts to go.]

Punching Polygons:
[After finding Glave, getting literally no explanation as to what is even going on, and being sent off on yet another little quest—people telling her they need her to do stuff is nothing new, and honestly feeling just a little old at this point—Raelyn is off to beat up some of the strange shaped creatures that call this space their home. She's not sure why he wants her to smack them around and bring him some of their cores, other than the possibility that he wants to be sure she can handle herself before he goes and requests something more-dangerous of her. That's typically how these sorts of things have worked in the past, anyway.

So to make it less-likely that the hypothetical follow-up request would be something too absurd, she decides that she'll only bring back exactly what he's asked for; one of each core and no more than that. She doesn't consider that following the instructions right to the letter might not be in her best interest either.

Having decided to start with a Chaos Circle, she goes to sneak up on one, and once she gets close enough, brings her weapon—a spear as long as she is tall—down on it with a ferocity that seems ill-fitting for a girl of her size. The act, of course, draws the immediate attention of all of the other shapes in the vicinity. As they start to close in, she mouths a small incantation to herself and a faint blue bubble forms around her, and with a second, separate incantation, a small cluster of glowing balls appear in the space behind her.]

Bring it on.

Taking A Break:
[Sometime after having fought a number of the Chaos creatures, she finds herself in a quieter place within this space. Though Helen's face is an unfamiliar one to her, she still finds some slight familiarity in the woman's presence and the sheer absurdity thereof; traveling merchants really do manage to get anywhere and everywhere, don't they? She's seen this several times over back in Arad, where no matter where she went, she would inexplicably come face to face with Delilah again and again, or sometimes Gabriel instead, even if there was no plausible explanation for their being there.

She's a little surprised when Helen passes her a pair of potions, with seemingly no strings attached outside of the request that she give one of the two to someone else and come back to report how well it worked.

But, she wants to rest a little longer before going back out into the more-dangerous parts of this place to go looking for literally anyone, so... Yeah she's just gonna sit for a little bit.]

Starfishing:
[Fishing. In space. She has been asked to go fishing in space. Is Helen serious about this?

Carrying a fishing rod that the woman agreed to part with in exchange for a handful of less-important things that had fortunately survived the fall into the rift that led here, Raelyn looks around, trying to figure out where or even how to start with such a ridiculous-sounding task. Where does she even cast the line?]
